ZWEITE JUGEND Are Back With A Brand New Single "Salz"

It is the simplest elements that resonate the deepest. A kiss, a touch – and the salt that lingers on lips and skin. In this trace of intimacy lies a raw, almost archaic magic: bodies intertwine, boundaries dissolve, the self becomes the other. "The salt on your lips is the salt on my skin. The salt on my lips is the salt on your skin."

With "Salz", Zweite Jugend turn to a theme that could hardly be more direct: sex as energy, as circulation, as exchange. Reduced, repeated, almost mantra-like, the lines become an incantation that sounds both driving and vulnerable.

On the occasion of their tenth anniversary, "Salz" also opens a new chapter. Alongside the classic version, two alternatives appear – "Transzendenz" and "Vanilla" – with Eli van Vegas stepping into the foreground as a solo artist. Here, Zweite Jugend deliberately free themselves from the tight corset of earlier years and work with loops and samples for the very first time – a rupture, a renewal. It is rather a compromise: the band's trusted, purely analogue sound collides with contemporary production techniques, opening new perspectives.

"Salz" is a stand-alone single, not a harbinger of an album, but a statement: Zweite Jugend continue to move forward, searching for new forms, new paths, new bodies. And yet they remain true to themselves – raw, direct, uncompromising.

The thre songs will be available on 31 October 2025 on all streaming and download platforms.
